Selected Projects

STEM Center, University of Juba

The 150 KWp system is composed of 480 panel array and some 288 Gel Batteries. The controllers and inverters are Schneider XW+. This system is DC coupled to mitigate against systematic malfunctions caused by AC Coupling inter-dependencies. The STEM Center now has power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is an exemplary system that can easily be copied by other organizations and institutions in the country as a cost-effective and reliable way to power large buildings and compounds.

Rumbek University of Science & Technology

Over the past 6 months, SunGate Solar has installed several large systems at the main public University in the town of Rumbek, the capital of Lakes state. Rumbek University’s three Campuses: Main, Mabui, and Eastern – all run on solar power. This makes it the first University in South Sudan to 100% of its power supply from renewable energy.

M-Gurush Across the Country

SunGate Solar has partnered with the new and biggest Mobile money startup in South Sudan, M-Gurush. SunGate was selected by the startup company to install solar power at its regional offices to ensure uninterrupted data 24 hours a day. So far, SunGate has installed systems for M-Gurush in Nimule, Torit, Yambio, Malakal, Rumbek, Wau, and Kuajok. More systems will be installed as the mobile money startup company grows and opens more stations in other towns in the county.

Water for South Sudan Compound, Wau

SunGate recently installed a 12-kW system in a compound in Wau for an NGO called Water for South Sudan. Using 40 panels of 300W each, 24 Rolls batteries, and an Imeon inverter, the system will replace the generator and power all their loads. Now with solar power, the NGO saves on fuel cost and removes the headache of generator repairs. They can now focus on drilling boreholes to bring life saving water to the villagers.

"

"SunGate Solar took the time to explain everything about solar energy to me and how my system works. SunGate CEO Mou Riiny is a South Sudanese with a degree from an Amercian University in Electrical Engineering. The team is highly skilled, and they use the best components available anywhere. It was well worth the wait to get a SunGate system."
